After the box office success of Marvel's The Avengers, it comes as no surprise to learn that ABC and Marvel are keen to continue the story (and money-spinning success) of the movie. And it could be as a live-action TV show...
That's the word over at Deadline, where rumors are circulating of an ABC/Marvel TV co-production based in the ''Avengers universe.'' But before you get too excited about the prospect of seeing Iron Man and the Hulk duking it out with an assortment of cosmic villains each week, it's worth noting that the proposed show is not a small-screen translation of the movie, but rather a smaller-scale ''sister project'' that would feature the ''themes and feel'' of the movie - just with none of the characters.
It sounds as if Marvel is keen to take a second stab at what sounds like a SHIELD-themed show following their earlier attempt with the backdoor pilot TV movie, Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD. Although according to Deadline, one of the concepts being kicked around is that of a ''high-concept cop show'' - which sounds suspiciously like Alan Moore's Top Ten...
