Images from LEGO's upcoming Minifigures Series 14 have hit the Internet. And we've got them after the jump...!
Although the leaked images only feature 11 figures, it's safe to assume we'll be getting the usual 16-per-wave, meaning there are still five Minifigures that have yet to be revealed. Anyway, without further ado, here they are:
Fans of the much-lamented Monster Fighters will no doubt find these figures a lot of fun but it's also worth noting that LEGO recently revealed they'd acquired the rights to produce Scooby Doo LEGO sets (so it appears the Character Building line may now be defunct...) Indeed, some of the above ''monsters'' - at least to me - appear more like people in costumes, rather than actual creatures or they look to ride the line between monster and ''kooky spooky'' everyday (or everynight?) character... And the fact that the Frankenstein's Monster is sporting a guitar and the Plant Monster has a human face adds even more weight to the concept of ''people in costumes'' and just confuses matters further. Hopefully we'll have something more definite soon...
And as we mentioned Scooby Doo above, it would be remiss of us to not include the official images LEGO recently posted, featuring two of the upcoming sets (which, again, fans of the Monster Fighters line may find feature some familiar elements...)

I call BS on those "leaked" figures. I recognize too many parts from existing minifigures.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be interesting to see if this is true, but it does tally with the rumors of a Monster-themed line-up.
DeleteWow scooby is terriable looking mini figure. It should of been if you have to bulid scooby instead. I like the zombie pirate reminds me of the granblue clan from Cardfight Vanguard.
ReplyDeleteOne thing LEGO doesn't do very well is animals. Each is usually a bespoke piece, so they can't really spend a lot on them (as they can't re-use them as anything else), which is why Scooby is a bit weak-looking, I guess. And I'm sure he'll be in quite a few sets so they can recoup their investment!
DeleteI hope those are legit for the tigress and Plant Guy alone - Tigress might be as close as we get to Wonder Woman's nemesis Cheetah, and the Plant guy would make a perfect companion piece to Poison Ivy!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I'm not entirely sold on these ones. There are a couple that look cool but a lot look like somebody at LEGO went, ''Hmm... is this too scary? I know, let's add a silly hat so it doesn't frighten kids...''
DeleteBut yes, they'd be great for the superhero line (along with the Ultra Agents, who make great Agents of SHIELD-types!)
