NEWS: Wonder Woman TV Pilot - First In-Costume Image

As we previously reported, NBC is going ahead with plans for a new, ''serious'' take on the DC character Wonder Woman. So far only a pilot has been commissioned but the proposed show - said to be a modernisation of both the Amazonian heroine and her alter-ego -  has some serious drama chops in the form of head writer David E. Kelley of Boston Legal fame.

Last month it was announced that Adrienne Palicki (Friday Night Lights, Lone Star) would be donning the bullet-bouncing bracers and taking on the role of Wonder Woman. Now today, Entertainment Weekly has the first image of her in costume and so we bring it to you.

What works on the page doesn't always work in real life, so the costume department have had their work cut out for them, especially given Wonder Woman's comicbook costume is pretty much a strapless one-piece bathing suit. It's also not fair to judge until we see it properly lit. As we all know, all cows in movies are, in fact, played by painted horses, so it could be that the Party City Halloween costume we see here may end-up looking fine on screen.

More at Entertainment Weekly. And thanks to Bubba Shelby at Toyriffic for spotting this.

  1. well this sure has taken me by surprise. not sure what to think of this at the moment. we'll just have to see how it comes along. i think Wonder Woman is a lot like Capt. America in which you have a great character on your hands but a real challenge in terms of translating into live action from the comic book or cartoon.
i'm also surprised to find this here seeing as your not a big DC guy Iok.

  2. I think a lot depends on how well she looks on-screen in-costume and how they handle a lot of the stuff like the invisible plane and so on.

And I'm not a huge DC fan - especially in terms of the toys - but I know other people here are interested.
