Today's Fan Article is this piece featuring Optimus Prime and Bonecrusher from the Transformers, as rendered by regular guest artist, David H.
The image is David's recreation of a scene from the 2007 Bayfest, The Transformers, where Optimus Prime and Bonecrusher duel on an elevated freeway. The movie may not have made a good impression on me, but David's artwork is cool.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the clarification. I think I tried to erase the whole memory of that movie from my mind...
ReplyDeletethat's how i felt about the G.I.Joe movie. a lot of big sci-fi/comic book movies came out that summer (Star Treck, Terminator 4, Transformers 2). they were all disappointing to some degree or another but G.I.Joe was by far the biggest steaming pile of the bunch.
ReplyDeletei bought G.I.Joe #1 when it first came out and had many of the following issues including some real classics like that silent issue with Snake Eyes invading that Cobra castle. i even remember some of the obscure but good villains they had in the comic book like Quinn the Eskmo mercenary. first three Joe figures i had were Rock n Roll, Breaker and Flash. but when i finally got Snake Eyes and Destro (my favorite characters)i was totally sprung. i watched the cartoon after school every day. i even remember the mini-series that kicked it off with both Cobra and the Joes racing to get those vital elements to power the teleporting machines they had.
so yeah when i finally saw the movie i really regretted not leaving the theater early into it and trying to get my money back or a voucher for another movie. i hear you can do that if you leave with the first 30 minutes.
District 9 was the only good movie that came out that summer.
I'd like to see Rise of Cobra again - I watched it on a flight, which is hardly the best viewing experience!
ReplyDeletemy friend, i know how much you love G.I.Joe. but one must come to terms with the fact this is not a movie worth your time.
ReplyDeleteOh I know it was crap but it would be nice to see it this time and at least have some idea as to what it was supposed to be about! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the DVD of GI Joe in Walmart for $10. That's still about $5 more than I'm willing to pay right now. :D
ReplyDeletei saw it at the library once where it was free to check out. i was really bored and was tempted to actually get it. but i just couldn't. i felt like the makers of that movie took enough of my life already due to the time it took to watch it once. if you absolutely must see it again try the library first. thanks for the compliment on my latest posting at the ROM blog. one of these days i'll see if i can cook up something for G.I.Joe. maybe something with Destro and The Baroness.
ReplyDeleteHeh, yeah I'm sure - as I've mentioned before - the Micronauts movie will probably do the same for me...
ReplyDeleteIkon was very cool and yeah, some GI Joe stuff would be neat!
well don't hold your breath for that movie to come out cuz i've been hearing about it for many years now. speaking of which, when are you planning on posting the Micronaut illustration?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it keeps getting mentioned but so far the only thing we've seen is the Micronauts logo at the NY Toy Fair.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was planning to post the new art tomorrow or Monday, depending when there's another That Figures update.
