Fans of Microman's and the Micronauts' Robotman/Biotron may be interested in Roboid - an awesome repro/tribute to the Takara/Mego classic. Created by Gold Dober over at the Micronauts Homeworld Blog, the figure is a hand-made resin figure cast with multiple parts and available in a very limited run.
Reading the history of the Roboid it's certainly been a labour of love for Gold Dober and a tribute to just how passionate fans of the Microman/Micronauts line are. Although no release date has been set and final pricing has yet to be confirmed, it looks like the Roboid will be debuting at around the $75 - $100 mark sometime very soon.
In the meantime you can read more about Roboid at the Micronauts Homeworld Blog.
Thanks to David H. for the tip.
i think this guy makes a living as a machinist which would explain the skills and tools a person would need to have in order to fabricate a customized figure and be able to make multiples of it with out the production cost getting out of hand.
ReplyDeleteThat could explain why they're so precise and cool-looking.
ReplyDeleteIf i had the cash for one of these i would so buy one.
