OK, so we've still a while to wait before we spot them in stores, but The Terror Drome is reporting that figures from the upcoming 30th Anniversary line have been sighted at the 2011 Canadian GI Joe Con. Although the photo is a little blurry, you can clearly make out Sgt Stalker, plus repackages of the Steel Brigade trooper, Cobra Viper and - at the top right - what appears to be a Cobra Trooper.
More when we get it.
UPDATE: And we got it.
General Joe's has some extra imagery for us, including a close-up of the Cobra Viper (which appears to be a repackage of the recently-released Pursuit of Cobra figure of the same name) and some of the Sgt Stalker card art. Examining the artwork reveals that Sgt Stalker and the Hazard Viper are two new additions to the line, with their wave-mates - the Cobra Viper, Cobra Trooper, Iron Grenadier and Steel Brigade trooper - all being repackages of previously-seen Pursuit of Cobra figures. Given many people have experienced problems finding these toys, it's nice to see Hasbro continuing to produce them as part of this wave, but it would have been nicer to see more new characters...

I hope we do spot them in our stores because right now am finding nothing else Joe related i need or want.
ReplyDeleteHasbro are making a lot of noise about making the 30th Anniversary ''special'' and ensuring the GI Joe is ''back where it should be'' (i.e. in stores.) On the plus-side all the Transformers toys that are taking-up all the shelf-space will hopefully be gone soon (not much sign of them selling though) and hopefully once all that nonsense is out of the way we'll find some other Hasbro toys out there.
ReplyDeleteI hope so and i did manage to score something cool from Hasbro that is not TF or Joe related that was on my wanted list and i will be blogging about it soon. : )
ReplyDeleteIt's cool that the Viper comes with different weapons. I hope all of the repackaged figures do
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to seeing it, Jboy!
ReplyDeleteThat's true Jason. I hope so too, as it would be cool for Army Building.
