In a press release too lengthy to repeat here, Mattel has announced that the new line of toys created to tie-in with the 2011 reboot of the 80s classic animated series, Thundercats, are in store now. Given the length of that sentence, perhaps I should apply for a post writing press releases...
You can read the full thing over at Action Figure Insider, who also snapped a rather snazzy gallery of the toys at the San Diego Comic Con.
Ok i watched the new show last night and i rather liked it so i might have to pick-up at lest one figure from the new line. Am eye balling that "old Mummy" Mumm-Ra as the one. : )
ReplyDeleteI missed it, sadly. I'll hopefully be able to catch it using On Demand or on Hulu or some such...
ReplyDeleteI went hunting for these yesterday. Of course I couldn't find any. Maybe they will show up in my area at some point.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been near a toy aisle since the announcement, so I'm not sure just how accurate Mattel's press release is...
ReplyDeleteI mean Bandai's press release.
ReplyDeleteKev i think they are re-showing the 1 hour pilot again tonight so check your cable listings and set your recorder. : )
ReplyDeleteCool - I'll check it out! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI knew there was something I was forgetting on Friday night.
ReplyDeleteI've been to one comic convention in my life, and the toys were the best part of the entire show for me. If I ever got the chance to go again, this is why.
Yeah, what's frustrating is I can't find a repeat of it at all in the schedule for the next week. Given how big a deal they made of its return you'd think they'd at least put on a catch-up of it for people who missed it first time around...
ReplyDeleteNo luck finding any TC figures this weekend and no repeats on the new show? Strange.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get much of a chance to look for the toys myself but I've seen other people online saying there's no sign of them yet!
ReplyDeleteAnd nope, no repeat. I'll see if it turns up on Hulu or similar but I'm not holding my breath!
I found the episode on the Cartoon Network site (after a bit of poking around) and will be taking a look soon - hopefully!
ReplyDeletenice. Thanks. The only thing I found was Episode 4 airing on Friday.
ReplyDeleteIt may depend on your TV provider. I'm with Comcast and was able to find the first episode on the Cartoon Network's site. It could be that other providers aren't letting people view it or something...
ReplyDeleteWow! That was EPIC!
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Thundercats. I was pretty excited from the trailers, and the show did not let me down. I am apparently one of the few people who doesn't think the old show sucks. I mean, it's not great, but I still find it pretty fun and like the world of third earth.
ReplyDeleteBut this new show...yeah...EPIC is the most concise and accurate description.
I enjoyed the original series but when you watch it again it's a bit slow and at times preachy. But it's a fun ''romp'' of a show.
ReplyDeleteI found the reboot surprisingly dark in tone and it was much more adult than I expected.
