It appears Lego's recent announcement that they'll be releasing a line of Marvel-based mini-figures won't be affecting the House of Ideas' deal with Mega Brands after all, if this sighting of the Marvel Mega Bloks mini-figures Series 2 is anything to go by.
As reported at The ToyArk, Series 2 of the blind-bagged, assemble-yourself figures is on-shelves now and features:
- Thor
- Loki
- Iron Man Mark V
- Red Skull
- Captain America
- Ground Assault Drone
- Wolverine
- Whiplash
It's interesting to note that aside from the Wolverine figure, this wave's figures are all based on their movie counterparts. Could it be that Lego has the comicbook rights and Mega Brands the movie rights?
Perhaps we'll learn more with the appearance of Series 3, as promised in the above check list.
Of course Wolverine is the ultra rare figure, he's the best one.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe everybody already has all the Wolverine toys they want... :D
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I picked up a few series one MEGA Bloks and I really enjoyed them. My local stores seem to not be carrying these... Just going to have to get them from my online retailers I guess.
ReplyDeleteI liked them to a degree but I just think having 8 figures in a line simply doesn't give enough variation.

ReplyDeleteDoes Lego STILL have a Marvel line, I thought the last one was Spider-Man 2
ReplyDeleteYeah, Lego recently signed both Marvel and DC.
