Fans of SyFy show Face Off will be pleased to hear it's been renewed for a third season.
For those unfamiliar with the show, Face Off pits aspiring special prosthetic and make-up artists in a head-to-head battle, with each week presenting the contestants with a new thematic challenge. The panel of judges - which includes director and creature designer Patrick Totopoulis, Oscar-winning make-up artist Ve Neill and make-up designer Glenn Hetrick - then select the best and worst of the offerings before announcing which artist is eliminated. Imagine America's Next Top Model with monster/gore make-up and not quite as much bitching and backstabbing and you'll get the idea.
With audiences responding well to the series - which recently garnered over 2 million viewers and is currently enjoying a 50% boost to audience figures compared to last season (according to Entertainment Weekly) - it comes as no surprise to see SyFy renewing the hit show.
The second season of Face Off is currently airing on SyFy, Wednesdays at 10PM EST.
