Before staring in Stargate: SG-1, Richard Dean Anderson made his name in the adventure series, MacGyver. The titular character was an action hero with a difference, though - he hated guns and instead preferred to use his knowledge of science and mechanics to jury-rig explosives from household compounds, improvise blowtorches from bicycle frames and defeat his enemies with rubber bands and twigs.
Now you can catch six of MacGyver's most popular adventures in this new DVD, set for release next week. Personally I'm saddened to see it doesn't include the Pilot or Deathlock, two of my personal favourites, but still any episode of MacGyver makes for entertaining viewing.
