This weekend saw the passing of legendary comicbook artist and visual designer Jean ''Moebius'' Giraud.
Perhaps best known for his work on French comicbook Metal Hurlant (Heavy Metal), Moebius' unique style, imaginative storytelling and intricate illustrations quickly garnered him a worldwide fan base.
Moebius was also a well-respected concept designer, working on such movies as Alien, Tron and The Fifth Element. The rarely-seen Les Maitres du Temps (Time Masters) was a showcase for Giraud's visual style and his ongoing serial western Blueberry was adapted for the big screen in 2004.
