HG Wells' War of the Worlds is a masterpiece. Seriously, if you haven't read it, go do so now, as it's one of the greatest sci-fi horror stories ever penned. It's too bad then that nobody has ever managed to translate it properly to the screen. That looks as if it could be about to change though with the release of War of the Worlds: The True Story, an independent movie that mixes ''eyewitness'' interviews and ''found footage'' to create a mockumentary chronicling the Martian invasion of 1900.
The movie is currently doing the rounds in independent/arthouse cinemas but you can keep abreast of what's going on (and hopefully when you'll get a chance to see it) at the official website.
