VIDEO VIEW: Evil Dead Remake Red Band Trailer

Warning: This is the RED BAND TRAILER for the upcoming remake of Sam Raimi's cult classic, The Evil Dead and as such is suitable for mature audiences only. It includes strong language and scenes of violence and gore, so if such things offend you, please do not watch it!

You have been warned!

  1. This looks like it could be a scary movie, except it's just got too much gore for me.
I really like scary movies, I find them fun, but at some point (I'm looking at you 'Saw') gore became the substitute for scary. I don't find it scary, I find it disgusting and I don't think it's healthy to put those images in my head.
I know we're dealing with living dead, and there's going to be some sick stuff, I'm fine with that. But they've got a girl splitting her tongue with an exacto knife. Really?

Sorry to sound like a cranky old man, there are just certain things in movies I don't like, and this was one I was kind of excited to see.

    1. My guess is they're trying to recreate the ''Video Nasty'' feel of the original, which - for the time - was incredibly shocking. But it's like Quentin Tarantino said about the ''ear scene'' in Reservoir Dogs: people recall a hideous, visceral and very explicit scene of the ear being removed when in reality you see nothing. But people remember it that way because their imagination fills in the gaps. Which is way more effective.
