NEWS: HG Wells' War of the Worlds Concept Trailer

UUUULLLAAAAAH!

Plans are afoot, it seems, to produce an authentic adaptation of HG Wells' phenomenally scary (and yes, it really is - go read the book) seminal work, The War of The Worlds.

Unlike previous adaptations, this production - from Coraline's Justin Kohn and Stephen (Killer Klowns from Outer Space-  yay!)  Choido - is set in Victorian England and appears to be an attempt at a more authentic adaptation (rather than introducing lightning-based space terrorists with EM pulse weapons. And a Fanning.)

Sadly this appears to simply be a proof of concept trailer, although hopefully somebody will pick up and run with this quirky approach (and hopefully hire somebody with slightly better compositing skills.)

You can view the full trailer (along with a behind-the-scenes sneak peek) over at Bleeding Cool.

Here's hoping somebody will fund this, as it would be great to see Wells' work finally done justice.
