Bleeding Cool has been putting together the various rumours regarding the upcoming Marvel's The Avengers and they may just have uncovered some fairly major plot points.
Be warned that the following - although based on conjecture - contains spoilers.
It began with this report, featuring a photograph of a mysterious flying saucer-like craft.
The design seemed similar to the aesthetic seen during the Asgard scenes in Thor, but could there be more to it than that?
Things took a new turn when Bleeding Cool ran this report, which stated that Cobie Smulders had joined the cast as Maria Hill/Anelle (who just happens to be a Skrull). The slight flaw in the report was that the information regarding Ms. Smulders' casting came from IMDB.com - a site that allows users to contribute information and, as a result of that, isn't always accurate. So perhaps this was just somebody creating their own fantasy movie.
But just when it looked as if the Skrulls appearing in the movie could simply be wishful thinking, along came this report of leaked footage of the canned videogame movie tie-in which shows, among other things, Thor battling with a number of Skrulls. Sadly the video has been removed at Marvel's behest but it certainly seems to add credence to the claim that the Avengers will be facing-off against the Skrulls in the upcoming movie...
