If - like me - you're looking for the latest Iron Man 2 figures and having no success, then you might want to skip Battlegrip's Ultimate Iron Man review - unless you want to torture yourself with some images of this rather cool-looking (and impossible to find) figure.
Interestingly, Phillip says he scored the Ultimate Iron Man and War Machine (with interchangeable heads) - and passed on Whiplash - during a visit to a ''large grocery store chain here in Texas.'' Whilst Philip doesn't name the store, it seems we should look beyond the usual haunts of Toys R Us, Walmart, Target et al and perhaps check-out some of our local grocery stores instead.
Check-out his review of the Ultimate Iron Man for yourself and see if he's worth all the effort to track-down.
Sometimes toys at the end of a figures line will show up in grocery stores like Duane Reade and Walgreens, Stop and Shop and Pathmark.
ReplyDeleteIn all my years of toy hunting, I've always checked those stores.
Yeah, I sometimes check the toy section in Walgreens, et al but I've never really found anything, sadly!
ReplyDeleteThis goes to show look every where you can for toys because you never know where they will turn up.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I'm hoping to see the Whiplash figure somewhere soon...!
ReplyDeleteI found a sky blue fj-40 matchbox at my CVS the other week (which I've seen go on ebay for about $10). They also had a dark blue jeep scrambler hot wheels. Those two items sum up the cool finds I've experienced at grocery/drug stores. I went ahead and got the fj-40, love it.
ReplyDeleteI picked up this iron man from bbts through amazon, great figure, lots of fun, crappy paint apps, not really worth the premium I paid, but glad to have him nonetheless.
As most CVS/Walgreens/Rite Aids/etc around here tend to be isolated, I don't really go into them that much. I should, really...
