A few more details have emerged about the upcoming Avengers TV spin-off.
Despite initial reports that Joss Whedon would act as show-runner on this new spin-off - said to center on the exploits of the SHIELD organization - Variety has confirmed that Whedon's involvement will be more limited than first imagined, saying he ''reserves the right to pepper in bits here and there'' with brother Jed and Maurissa Tancharoen acting as full show-runners. He was also keen to stress that the show is ''autonomous to the film storylines'' and it's not an explicit spin-off from the movies.
We've no word on when this new SHIELD-themed TV show (which still seems to lack a title) will air but ABC and Marvel are keen to capitalize on the box office success of The Avengers, with the show already in pre-production.
