Although he was briefly seen in the recently-aired Captain America: The First Avenger trailer, today sees the first publicity shot of Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull.
For those unfamiliar with the comicbook mythos, the Red Skull is a Nazi scientist, whose face is disfigured in an accident to become a crimson, skull-like visage (hence the name.) Despite dying multiple times and suffering numerous defeats, he's always returned to battle Captain America and is considered one of his deadliest foes.
The Red Skull's origins will no doubt be incorporated into the upcoming Captain America movie and he appears to be the chief villain of the piece.
