Thunder... Thunder... Thunder... Thundercats, HOOOO!
I think when future historians write their moon-encyclopedia of great cartoon intro sequences, they'll probably all nod their over-sized, super-brained heads in telepathic agreement that there was no finer opening to any show than the Thundercats intro.
From the opening trumpet salute to the last whispered ''Thundercats!'', the intro sequence never gives up. It's like being riding a motorcycle at 200MPH whilst being smashed repeatedly in the face with an uberslab of guitar solo goodness.
If the upcoming reboot manages to get an opening as awesome as this, then I'll certainly be watching.
yes indeed that show did have a good intro. the original Thundercats had a lot going for it. the name "Thundercats", their logo, their look/outfits (especially Panthro and Cheetara) and the over all animation of the show. the problem was when you actually try to sit down and watch an entire episode you realized the writing was pretty lame for the most part. it's a shame they had to take a good concept and dumb it down for the lowest common denominators among the kids back then.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it's a show that didn't age well but still has a lot going for it. And the intro was awesome.
