We reported earlier that Fox has cancelled - among other things - the DC Comics-based Human Target. Now ABC is following suit by canceling two of its genre shows, No Ordinary Family and the modern re-imagining of not-as-good-as-you-remember-it-being 80s series, V.
Other casualties of ABC's ''schedule-adjustments'' include Detroit 1-8-7, Brothers and Sisters, Off the Map, Better With You and Mr Sunshine. It actually makes me wonder just what ABC will be airing next year...
Thanks to HitFix for the tip.
holy shit man ABC got rid of all kinds of shows! yeah i tried to get into V cause i loved the original but there was just too much stuff about it that i didn't like. and that new Detroit cop show just seemed a little too much like NYPD Blues. aside from the black female bald police chief there didn't seem to be much originality to it. i don't know if it was ABC or some other network but remember The Cape earlier this year or at the tail end of last year? i saw the first episode and thought it sucked right away. it got cancelled after 9 episodes. as for Wonder Woman i had a bad feeling about it after i first saw those production photos on this blog.
ReplyDeleteDid not watch any of these so am not effect too much by it but i wonder if this is going to be a growing trend with fantasy and Sci-Fi related programing now?
ReplyDeleteYeah, David - V wasn't particularly good. I know they can't just do the same ground over, but it just seemed weak to me. And The Cape was just appalling - the only good thing is they spoofed it in Community!
ReplyDeleteIt looks that way Jboy. I think everybody is looking for the ''new Lost'' and they're producing a lot of misfires as a result.
