NEWS: Frank Darabont Steps-Down As Walking Dead Showrunner

Frank Darabont the Director, Writer and Executive Producer of AMC's The Walking Dead, is to step-down from his position as Showrunner.

In a report over at Deadline, it's been revealed that Darabont was unhappy with the grueling schedule TV production demands and so has elected to step-down from his role. Although post-production on Season 2 will remain unaffected, Darabont was very much the driving force behind the show, having spent five years adapting the comic book to the small screen. He also wrote and directed the pilot.

There's been no official word from Darabont or AMC, but we'll bring you more when we have it.

The Walking Dead Season 2 premieres on October 16th.
