Jim Shooter has posted a superb behind-the-scenes memoir at his blog, recounting his time at Marvel during the creation of the GI Joe: A Real American Hero comicbook.
The comic, which launched in-tandem with the new ''Small Joes''-scale figures not only featured characters from the range but also directly influenced the toy line, with Marvel's staff - specifically Larry Hama, according to Shooter - providing a variety of ideas and concepts which the toy manufacturers then ran with.
It's a fascinating read and is a definite must for all GI Joe fans.
