I have to admit, despite feeling at times like a fan fiction pastiche of a dozen Holmes stories, I did enjoy Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes. Now details of the sequel have begun to emerge.
Interestingly, Richie - in an interview with USA Today - stated that the movie ''shares elements of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 1893 short story, The Final Problem, which... introduced Moriarty.''
Fans of the great detective will also know that story for another reason, but let's not get too spoilery.
We'll bring you more when we have it.

I liked the first film so am in for this one. : )
ReplyDeleteIt could be good. I just felt the first one was a bit like fan fiction - too many nods to other works or quotes from the originals, as if it was kind of going ''I really am a Holmes story! Honest!''
ReplyDeleteGood, but the TV show Sherlock is better.
