Mattel has shared some important news regarding the future of the Masters of the Universe Classics line, the Club Eternia subscription levels and what this means for fans.
Mattel's brand manager Scott AKA ToyGuru begins the update by confirming that Club Eternia has passed its minimum subscription requirements - so the club will be around for another year. However, he also states that this year's subscription level has been the lowest so far and that - unless there's a large, surprise uptake before the end of the subscription period later this week - the club-exclusive Shadow Weaver will be the lowest production-run figure yet.
He also confirms that none of the 2012 figures will be re-released and that the line-up for the coming year is to be produced in smaller numbers than previously seen due to the club having fewer subscribers this year.
Although the general tone of the update is quite positive, Mattel aren't sugar-coating it and from the sound of it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Matty Collector's club initiative either revamped for next year or retired, especially given how poor the response has been to the Infinite Earths Club.
