Action Figure Times has this gallery of packaging shots from the ''specialty store'' variants - special sets that are only sold through specialist retailers and include additional accessories not seen in the ''regular'' Toys R Us releases.
I'm still not entirely sure what a ''specialty store'' is. I'm assuming they're referring to comicbook and collectible stores but given their scarcity these days, I expect a lot of collectors will experience difficulty in finding these variants.
The Universal Monsters Series 2 figures are due to hit retail ''in time for Halloween.''
