I'm a big fan of Jack Kirby. I'm also impressed by anybody with the artistic vision and ability to create their own custom figures. So you can imagine how excited I was to see the Kirby Your Enthusiasm Custom Challenge at AFB.
The basic premise is fairly simple: to honour what would have been Jack ''King'' Kirby's 94th birthday, Action Figure Blues' Niteowl has challenged their forum members to produce an original figure or toy based on one of the great Kirby's creations. If you're struggling for inspiration or not a comic fan, Jack Kirby co-created - among other things - Thor, The Fantastic Four, The Silver Surfer, Captain America, The Hulk and many, many more memorable characters. The challenge is open until November 10th, so if you fancy joining in you've plenty of time to get your custom creations completed!
