British cable TV Channel Dave has confirmed the return of the sci-fi sitcom - Scit-Com? - Red Dwarf.
As reported at SFX.com and Red Dwarf.co.uk the new series re-unites original cast members Danny John-Jules, Craig Charles, Robert Llewellyn and Chris Barrie for a season of six, 30-minute episodes. Filming is currently underway and the show is slated for a September 2012 release in the UK. No word yet on when - or if - this season will land in the US but given the popularity of the show among Doctor Who fans (despite the comedy trappings Red Dwarf often features ''hard'' sci-fi plot elements), I'd be very surprised if BBC America didn't pick this up.
