They're the world's most fearsome fighting team, apparently. Oh and they're heroes in a half-shell, who happen to be green.
And now they're back, in Pog figure form. Again.
Playmates Toys has released the first images of their upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics 6'' figures, which sees the original figures re-sculpted and retooled (but thankfully remaining unchanged in terms of the character designs) using updated production techniques.
No word yet on when we can expect to see the Ninja Turtles at retail - or whether they'll be launching a ''modern'' line of figures too (but they will be, given there's a new TMNT cartoon coming soon to Nickelodeon) - but you can see more over at MTVGeek.
Interesting trivia: In the UK, the cartoon was renamed Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, because The Powers That Be thought the word ''Ninja'' would encourage children to buy ''Ninja weapons'' from Martial Arts stores and then use them on their siblings. Which is ridiculous, because as we all know, you could make your own ''Ninja weapons'' in the metalwork shop at school for free when the teacher wasn't looking...
Articulation... in their toes? That's kinda weird. Not once did I ever think my Turtles toys would be better if I could wiggle their toes.
ReplyDeleteI've got some Micromen with toe articulation and it's actually pretty neat, as it allows you to do some cool leaning forward/squat/kneeling kind of poses without the foot getting in the way.
