VIDEO VIEW: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Trailer
OK, so it's not strictly toy-related but given how popular the repro toys have been and that there'll be a whole line of new merchandise to accompany the movie's release, we could hardly let this one slip.
Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Donatello and Raphael team up with BWAAANG to defeat a Ninja Transformer accompanied by that B-B-B-B-BWAOW noise and some slow motion. Fans of the original will either love the bold new look or hate the weird baby-faced CGI monstrosities. But either way, I really don't care enough to really be bothered one way or the other.
Expect to see your local toy store shelves filled with useless tie-ins in the run up to the movie's August 8th release, with those same toys showing up in your local Ross and 5 Below a few months later.

Confession time: I actually don't like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was born to late to ''get'' them first time around and the modern cartoon just seems to be lots of shouting and nostalgia. But this weekend as I was browsing the Lego kits in my local store, I picked up this set and came so close to buying it - even though I really don't like the Heroes in a Half-Shell. Why was I tempted? Because these new Lego kits are seriously awesome. Just look at that. There's some pink shark guy and a Ninja and one of the Turtles (Bob, I think), along with not one but two incredible-looking vehicles that are, I'm sure, as much fun to play with as they are to build. So if this kit can make me - a die-hard non-fan - consider buying it, and you're a TMNT fan, then what are you waiting for?
