Hammer has revealed its plans to turn The Woman in Black into a potential movie franchise with the announcement of a sequel.
According to Bleeding Cool, Hammer CEO Simon Oakes attended a screening of The Woman in Black ahead of the movie's UK home release last week. During a Q&A session with the press, Oakes confirmed that work is underway on a second movie, described as a ''continuation'' of the Daniel Radcliff-starring 2012 ghost story.
Oakes revealed that Susan Hill wrote an outline for a second Woman in Black story, which Hammer has since described as being set 40 years after the events in the first movie and centering on the conversion of the house to a military mental hospital, where the arrival of a group of deeply disturbed patients awakens the house's ''darkest inhabitant.''
As of yet, no cast details have emerged but Hammer did tease that Daniel Radcliff ''might'' return in a small role.
