The BBC has announced it will be marking Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary with a new fact-based drama exploring the show's origins.
An Adventure in Time and Space will tell the story of how Doctor Who came into being, focusing on the writers, producers and personalities involved in the show's genesis and creation. Penned by long-time Who fan, writer and actor Mark Gatiss, it is being overseen by showrunner Steven Moffat who will act as executive producer for BBC Wales.
''The story of Doctor Who is the story of television, so it’s fitting in the anniversary year that we make our most important journey back in time to see how the TARDIS was launched,” said Moffat.
