Game of Thrones has found its King Beyond the Wall in the form of Ciaran Hinds.
Hinds, perhaps best known for his roles in Rome and John Carter, has been signed to play Mance Rayder for the upcoming Third Season of HBO's smash-hit adaptation of the George R.R. Martin series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
A former Ranger, Mance Rayder was seduced by the lifestyle of the Wildlings - men who live beyond the Wall, outside the rule of the Iron Throne - who eventually rose to be their king. Now united under his leadership, the Wildlings are on the move, their destination: the Wall and the lands beyond. It is during this trek that they are encountered by Jon Snow and it is through his experiences we learn more of Rayder and his plans...
The Irish-born Hinds has amassed a large body of genre work over the course of his acting career, including roles in Excalibur, Tales from the Crypt, Jason and the Argonauts and the aforementioned John Carter.
