We're saddened to report the death of producer and director, Tony Scott.
With a directorial resume that includes such heavy-hitters as Top Gun, Days of Thunder, True Romance and Crimson Tide, Scott was also - along with brother Ridley - a powerhouse producer, with Scott Free Productions being behind such blockbusters as The A Team and Prometheus and a number of hit TV shows, including the excellent Pillars of the Earth.
Although details are still unclear as to his motive, Mr Scott decided to end his life in the early hours of Sunday morning by throwing himself from the Los Angeles County Bridge. According to reports the 68-year old left a list of contact details in his car. A suicide note was later found at his office.
Scott was working on a number of new projects, including a sequel to his breakthrough movie, Top Gun. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
