We've a quick update to our earlier story regarding a potential Disney buyout of Hasbro.
As spotted by the HISS Tank, The Providence Journal did a little more digging and despite a ''no comment'' from the toy manufacturer, CNBC's David Faber stated Hasbro's advisers have "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form" involving Hasbro or Disney. Wall Street Analysts were also skeptical given the House of the Mouse's recent acquisition of Lucasfilm.
Although there's no definitive statement that ''yes, we are doing it,'' keep in mind that both company's responses still leave room for some future maneuvering from the parties involved. And if Disney were looking to buy a toy company - given their licensing agreements with Hasbro - it would certainly make sense for them to target the Providence-based manufacturer.
