The CW has just released its list of pilot orders, which features - among other things - their remake of cult British sci-fi show The Tomorrow People and Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals. But notable by its absence is Amazon, their proposed ''Wonder Woman: The Early Years'' drama.
According to Deadline's sources, Amazon has either been ''rolled over'' into next season's round of shows or could be introduced as a mid-season pilot.
Although this will come as a disappointment to those looking forward to the show, it can actually be seen in a positive light. Given that as of yet the script remains uncompleted and the role of Wonder Woman remains unfilled, it would seem The CW is taking its time to get the show right - hardly surprising given that Amazon follows on the (high) heels of ABC's disastrous Wonder Woman pilot. And given the runaway ratings success that is Arrow, The CW will certainly be hoping their new show will be just as popular - which means making sure that the show is actually worth watching.
