IN OTHER NEWS... 08/20/2013

And IN OTHER NEWS... Sharknado on Blu-Ray, some podcast-y goodness, the director of Day Watch auditions for SyFy, Marvel releases a clip from their new Iron Man 3-bundled One Shot, JJ Abrams releases... something and more!

If you missed the actually-not-as-good-bad-as-some-of-SyFy's-other-offerings ''epic'' Sharknado (or you just want to relive the experience again) you'll be pleased to hear producers The Asylum have announced that the movie will be making its way onto Blu-Ray and DVD on September 3rd.

The Stranger
No, we don't know what it is either, except that JJ Abrams is attached to it.

The Articulated Monster Podcast
Here's episode 76 of The Articulate Monster Podcast, the amusingly-yet-oh-so-relatable-y entitled, Still Hating Mattel.

Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter

As has become the tradition, Marvel's latest DVD and Blu-Ray release, Iron Man 3, will feature a specially-filmed ''one-shot'' short movie. With Agent Coulson presumably too busy coordinating SHIELD's TV debut, the fill-in duties fall instead to Agent Peggy Carter - who smart (or just sharp-eyed) fans will realize is of course, the same Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger.

Iron Man 3 lands on Blu-Ray and DVD next month.

If you follow us on Twitter (and if not, why not?) you may have seen a few comments about NBC's new supernatural mocku-drama Siberia (namely us telling you you should watch it because it's very good.)

Although the show is now at around its halfway mark, there's been no news yet as to whether it will be returning for a second season. In order for that to happen the producers have to show that there's an audience willing to continue watching. So if you haven't already joined in the fun, be sure to do so every Monday at 10PM EST on NBC. And if you're not a fan of joining a show mid-run, then don't worry: NBC's website features all previously aired episodes of this season. We suggest you go over there right now and get caught up. You'll thank us later.

Here's the pre-production sales trailer for Night Watch/Wanted/Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter director Timur Bekmambetov's Squirrels, which he's presumably filming before SyFy get the same idea...
