VIDEO VIEW: John Carter ''Heritage'' Fan Trailer

It's nice to see Disney's marketing for the upcoming John Carter movie finally acknowledging its literary roots (although I'm sure that was fought against by a number of corporate types because - as we all know - books are for nerds) but here's a fan-made video that takes it one stage further to deliver a trailer that not only informs the viewer of John Carter's history but also seems more in-keeping with the pace and tone of the movie itself.

John Carter opens this Friday.

VIDEO VIEW: John Carter Audience Reactions

A few lucky cinema goers got to see an early preview screening of Disney-Pixar's John Carter on Monday night and Barsoomian fan-site The John Carter Files caught-up with them afterward to ask what they thought of the movie. But before you click play, be warned that there is a spoiler at around the 0:45 mark.

Surprisingly - given the early testing scores - John Carter received a very positive reception, including from  women viewers, a demographic that had previously ''flat-out rejected the film'' based on the early promotional campaign.

Here's hoping positive reviews and word-of-mouth can overcome Disney's weak advertising.

John Carter opens on March 9th.

Thanks to ComicBookMovie.com for the tip.

Here's the latest trailer for Disney-Pixar's John Carter.

It's sad to see the trailer still missing the mark so widely, especially when the fan-made trailer we brought you yesterday does so good a job conveying the movie's tone and premise.

John Carter opens in theatres next Friday (March 9th.)
