The coverage continues! Read on to find-out what Hasbro has planned for the Marvel Universe, Spider-Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor and Greatest Battle Packs lines!
Collection DX
Let's start with the big one: Marvel Masterworks' Sentinel. This toy is going to be awesome and will make a great companion-piece to last year's Galactus. Like Galactus, it's a 19'' figure that comes packed with a bonus character - in this case, Nightcrawler. Whether this is a recycle of the Secret Wars toy or a new sculpt is unknown at this time.
We also get our first look at the much-better-than-expected Avengers team pack. Although the Thor figure appears to be the same Asgardian featured in the Secret Wars double-pack, the Iron Man here has a new paint job (and additional pieces, such as the antenna) and the Hulk is a new, Kirby-inspired model. Even the Ant Man and Wasp mini-figures are new casts, so kudos to Hasbro for that - a pack I was going to pass-on is now back on my shopping list!
What really caught my eye though was the presence of Sue Richards to the left of the shot. Could this mean the Future Foundation figures I speculated over are going to appear in this wave? Who knows, but one thing we can safely assume is there's going to be some kind of Fantastic Four release, either as a group-pack or individuals. Consult the Sentinel photo once more and look to the right, where you can clearly see Reed Richards, Ben Grimm and just out of shot is that... H.E.R.B.I.E?
There's also some nice shots of the Captain America: The First Avengers and Spider-Man toys, but nothing we haven't really seen yet.
You can view their full coverage of the Hasbro Preview Event here.
Battlegrip
Battlegrip's Philip Reed has uploaded his photos of the upcoming Marvel toys to Flickr, which you may access here. Note that in this image you can clearly see the animated series Fantastic Four (with H.E.R.B.I.E.)
Poe Ghostal's Points of Articulation
There's a nice round-up of Hasbro's lines over at PGPoA, with a focus on the upcoming Thor movie and Captain America: The First Avenger tie-in figures.
Although there's little we haven't seen already, these are some nice photos of the figures up-close and a good look at Crossbones, the Red Skull's some-time henchman, a toy we've not seen before at That Figures.
You can see more of Day One here.
Cool Toy Review
There's a nice gallery of the Marvel Universe figure display here. Although there's nothing we haven't already seen above, there are some good close-ups.
