There are some toys that are great playthings. Some we buy out of nostalgia, as a way to recapture our youth or remind us of simpler times. Others look kind of cool on your shelf. Then there are those that transcend this to become works of art.
Sacramento-based designer toy retailer Dragatomi will be hosting a one-day exhibition of such works on May 14th. Featuring a three-way showcase of pieces from Kevin Gosselin, J-Ryu and Troy Stith, the show - entitled Vinyl Roots - is described by Troy as being ''based around transformation.''
In a post at the Gorilla Mouth blog, Troy promises to preview some of his works soon, so watch this space for more.
