I'll be the first to admit: I'm not a fan of the Transformers toys. The cartoons never really caught my attention, the toys seemed to be either weird-looking robots or boring cars (and I hated toy cars as a child) and don't even get me started on the movies. Or the countless tie-in toys that are clogging the shelves and occupying space that would be better spent given over to other figures.
So I'm going to hand you over to Philip at Battlegrip for the news that the Transformers Collectors' Club has announced that Runabout is to be a club-exclusive release. Apparently this follows the news that his buddy Runamuk is also putting in an appearance.
It looks like a halfbreed, part G1 series, part Alternator. I like it though. Love the color scheme too. The black and silver palette that dipshit Michael Bay uses is horrible (Ironhide is RED). And as my brother says, "why do all the Decepticons look like pincushions?". I need to visit the collector's club more often.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I just couldn't watch the Transformers movies. I couldn't work-out what was what and what was going on with half the scenes. It just looked like a car-wreck on-screen...
ReplyDeleteoh it was and they got worse with each movie. Michael Bay needs to go back to music videos where the ability to create an actual plot isn't required. I really do like this bot though. Kind of reminds me of a better-designed version of some of the mail-in toys you could get back in the '80's if you sent in X-number of "proof of purchase" bar codes.
ReplyDeleteI never got the Transformers - they always seemed to be ''neither nowt nor something'' as we'd say in English-English (i.e. neither one thing or another.)
