VIDEO VIEW: Mockingbird Lane Dinner Sequence

Here's a clip from NBC's upcoming ''re-imagining'' of The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane. Although Eddie Izzard puts in a great turn as Grandpa, I have to admit my hopes of this show actually being any good remain pretty low. But hey, maybe I'll be surprised...

VIDEO VIEW: Werewolf: The Beast Among Us

Here's the new trailer for the direct-to-video sequel to Universal's terrible 2010 reboot of the 1930s classic, The Wolf Man. And if that sentence doesn't exemplify what's wrong with movies these days, I don't know what does.

Anyway, the sequel - which is now going by the name Werewolf: The Beast Among Us (note, not The Wolf Man: The Beast Among Us) - is an ''action-packed thriller'' that sees the lupine horror being tracked by a band of werewolf hunters, chief among them a Not Remotely Steampunk lady with goggles and a flamethrower. No doubt her zeppelin and collection of cog-covered waistcoats will put in an appearance at some point, too.

Werewolf: The Beast Among Us is set for an October 9th release in the US, making it an ideal Halloween gift. For somebody you don't like.

PODCAST: Action Features Podcast Episode 14

The latest edition of the Action Features Podcast features an in-depth discussion of remakes. Which is ironic, as this episode covers a number of topics previously featured in Episode 11 - to the point of the guys billing it as a remake. Wheels within wheels. Plots within plots. Creamy centers within donuts. Sorry, I just realized I'm hungry.

NEWS: The Mysterious Cities of Gold To Return

25 years after the first series ended, The Mysterious Cities of Gold is set to make a comeback.

For those who missed-out on the original, The Mysterious Cities of Gold was a Franco-Japanese animated series produced by DiC Entertainment that followed the South American adventures of Spanish orphan Esteban and his friends. Mixing science fiction, adventure and history, the show tapped into the ''Ancient Astronaut'' theories made popular by writer Erich von Daniken and featured bird-shaped aircraft, frozen Olmecs, lasers and more.

Now, as the above (French language) trailer shows, a new generation will be able to experience the popular adventure series for themselves. Here's hoping they keep the sing-along theme tune.

VIDEO VIEW: Beauty & The Beast Remake (CW)

Here's our first look at The CW's update of the 80s drama, Beauty & The Beast. The modern show features a new back story for Catherine in the form of the murder of her mother by unknown assailants and her subsequent quest to solve it will no doubt be a prime motivator for the character and an ongoing story arc (so expect lots of betrayals, cover-ups, conspiracies, shocking revelations about her mother's actual character and more) and a Vincent who, unlike the original, merely shape-shifts into being a lion-faced freak. Because, you know, a pretty girl being in love with a guy who's butt-ugly all the time, is just like so gross and icky but this new approach of having him being handsome too is, you know, like totally true to the original show's concept and is a totally profound statement about the duality of man.

On the plus-side, at least it means we can be treated to such phenomenally good* promotional art as this:

* By ''good'' I mean of course, ''Badly Photoshopped by somebody obsessed with smoothing-out any actual resemblance to a real human being.''
