REVIEW: Marvel Universe's Thor (Classic and Modern Costumes)

Modern Costume Thor/Secret Wars Thor | Produced by Hasbro
Released Feb 2010/October 2009

BEHOLD THE MIGHTY THORS!

Verily, thou gazest upon a duet of playthings! Thy mind is not possessed by Loki! For here is a presentation rare and unusual - two likenesses of the Odinson! But thou art truly possessed by madness if thou reckonest I shall write yon Review in this manner!

With the new Thor movie just months away, the Hasbro Original Avengers set just around the corner  and the Thor tie-in toys hitting the shelves last week, it's a good opportunity to look back at Hasbro's previous Marvel Universe renditions of the God of Thunder as we present both the Secret Wars release and Modern Costume Thor.

REVIEW: Marvel Universe's Yellowjacket (With Ant Man)

Brilliant but unstable biochemist and robotics engineer Henry Pym never really intended to become a Super Hero.  When a group of spies captured his assistants, he was forced to use his inventions to save them.  That is when he discovered his true calling.  Since that day, he has been one of America's foremost heroes, adventuring with various groups of AVENGERS.  Though he has suffered many tragedies over the years, he has never stopped trying to be the best hero he can be.

Hey!  Two characters for the price of one!  That must be a bargain!  Right?  Right...?

REVIEW: Marvel Universe's Doc Samson

DOC SAMSON has always believed that the HULK is only a symptom of a deeper problem within Bruce Banner's mind.  For years, he worked to cure Banner of his affliction through a combination of psychoanalysis and gamma science.  Exposed to gamma radiation he gained phenomenal strength and durability.  Though he remains primarily a psychiatrist, he also uses his strength to assist his friends among Earth's heroes.

Following on from yesterday's Captain Marvel review comes Figure 002 from Hasbro's new Series 3 Marvel Universe toys, a figure that continues what appears to be a celebration of 70s superheroics.  Read on, true believer!

REVIEW: Marvel's Greatest Battles Comic Pack - Spider-Man and Sentry

With dozens of super-powered criminals suddenly free and on the run, the reformed AVENGERS are stretched to their limit. Even the most powerful collection of heroes in the world may not be enough to recapture so many dangerous individuals. So now the AVENGERS seek out the most powerful being on the planet - the SENTRY.  SPIDER-MAN and the other AVENGERS must help him rebuild his shattered psyche before the villains overwhelm them.

Today I'm taking a look at the latest Marvel's Greatest Battles Comic Pack - Spider-Man and Sentry.

The former is - I'm sure - familiar to even non-Marvel readers, but who is Sentry and why is he the ''most powerful being on the planet?''  As Stan Lee would say, ''Read on and find out, true believer!''

REVIEW: Marvel's Greatest Battles Comic Pack: Cyclops and Dark Phoenix

Hasbro continue to expand the Marvel Universe line with their latest release, the Marvel's Greatest Battles Comic Pack (phew!)  Like the previous Secret Wars double-packs, the Greatest Battles releases feature two figures and a suitable comicbook reprint, presumably to fill-in the story of the figure set (or maybe get non-readers hooked on the comicbooks.)

Today I'm taking a look at the Cyclops and Dark Phoenix double-pack.
