Long-time readers may know I've frequently lamented the demise of Monster in my Pocket and MUSCLE figures. I think there's a real gap in the market for a detailed-sculpt, monster/creature-based line of soft plastic toys. Well it seems I'm not the only one who thinks so.
The OMFG! (Outlandish Mini Figure Guys) Series is a line of five figures designed cooperatively between members of the October Toys Forums, inspired by such classic toys as the aforementioned duo.
The sculpts and prototypes have been completed and everything's ready to go. But in order for the project to reach fruition, the OMFG! guys need your help in the form of cold, hard cash, which you can pledge at their Kickstarter Project Page.
The amount you pledge is up to you but there are incentives available to all who donate, based upon the amount you give, ranging from downloadable desktop wallpaper to a five-piece set of the figures (for a very reasonable $10), colourway variant figure sets ($15) and - for the big-spender - a trip to the October Toys Studios in LA, where you'll get to hang out with the crew, film an episode of Toy Break and receive a weekend's tuition in sculpting, molding and casting.
As of today, the project is just over halfway to their goal of $11,000, so if you'd like to see these toys go to market - or better yet, snag a set for yourself - then head over now and add your support.
Thinking of throwing $10 there way because i want these! : )
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty cool and that's a fair price for five figures, given the price of, say, Marvel Squinkies or Gogo's Crazy Bones.
ReplyDeleteIndeed and these are just so much cool than alot of toys that are out there right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think the fact that they're designed by toy fans really shines through.
