HitFix is reporting that Disney has hired screenwriter Dan DiGilio to pen the third installment in the Tron Saga. And yes, if the teen angst of an annoyingly wishy-washy bint and a poufy-haired ''vampire'' can be called a ''Saga'' then so too can the Tron movies.
I'm taking Saga back.
Despite Disney's initial misgivings about the 2010 sequel, Tron: Legacy actually performed very respectably at the box office, with its opening weekend out-grossing Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Fast Five. Globally it even out-grossed Paramount's mighty Star Trek reboot - which currently has a sequel in the works...
It's still early days but given that Disney has commissioned the animated TV show Tron: Uprising for the Disney DX channel then perhaps our digital hero will be returning to the big screen. Let's just hope the tie-in toys are better this time around.
