NEWS: DCU vs MOTUC Cancelled

The latest round of Ask Matty has revealed that the Toys R Us-exclusive DC Universe vs Masters of the Universe Classics line has been cancelled.

Its All True's Ask Matty update broke the news over the weekend that the Bizarro/Battle Armor Faker double-pack would be the last release in the line ''as retailers have not ordered any additional packs and it looks like the line will end with this pack.'' On the plus-side, ''The GL/Zodac and Supergirl/She-Ra packs should still hit before the end of the year,'' so at least there's some consolation for collectors of the line.

  1. Really sucks DC Classics is ending at retail. While I stopped collecting them last year with Spectre, I was watching what Mattel was up to and trying to see if it be worth returning. Alas it was not to be.

If DCNu is the main retail line now, I am in the market for a few figures after all: Madame Xanadu and possibly Zatanna in her new costume. My hopes for deeper roster of Wildstorm figures are practically dashed since only 2 Wildcats members and Stormwatch have received new titles. And with a new person mangaging the line who is unfamiliar with B-and C-list characters, I can’t help but think they will only push the A-listers or whoever Jim Lee/Dan Didio/Geoff Johns wants to push.

  2. I don't collect them myself but it's always a shame when a line ends.
