Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff is poised to join the cast of the third installment in the Riddick movie series.
Riddick - as played by Vin Diesel - first appeared in the 2000 sci-fi horror, Pitch Black. The movie's success spawned a videogame spin-off, a straight-to-video Anime sequel and the 2004 live-action follow-up, The Chronicles of Riddick. Filming on the latest entry was interrupted briefly last year due to funding issues but production resumed recently - although there's still no word on a release date.
Sackhoff - probably best known for her roles as Starbuck in 2004's Battlestar Galactica remake and Dana Walsh in 24 - joins the cast as Dahl, ''a Nordic mercenary tracking Riddick.''
