2012 isn't shaping up to be a great year for Paramount. Following on from the earlier delay in the release of GI Joe: Retaliation the studio has announced the shutdown of pre-production on their upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, pre-production has ceased on the Michael Bay-helmed big screen adaptation of the popular 80s comic/cartoon/toy line/breakfast cereal/home enema kit, with ''script issues'' being cited as the cause. Deadline however, further speculates that - given Paramount's current shaky financial status - the script is being trimmed to make shooting more economical. Quite how much more economical the tale of some guys in turtle suits in a freaking sewer can get is open to debate.
So if you're a fan of Ninja-on-mutant action, then it looks like you'll now have to wait until May 2014 for your fix.
