PODCAST: AFB Podcast Episode 44

One of the slight problems of taking a break is that the world doesn't always follow suit. Case in point, while we were ''off the air'' (so to speak) the guys at Action Figure Blues were still recording the AFB Podcast, the latest episode of which was originally posted on December 26th. So yes, we're a little tardy bringing it to you but think of it more as a Christmas present we just found behind the tree rather than us just sitting on our collective behinds eating ham and watching A Christmas Story.

AFFILIATE LINK: The Hobbit 3 3/4-Inch Collector Pack

If, like me, you saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this weekend and really enjoyed it, then chances are you're paying a little more attention to the toys now you've actually seen the movie. And, if like me, you like a bargain, then by the law of Collector Math this five-figure pack should be exactly what you're looking for to start your collection.

Featuring reluctant hero Bilbo, company leader Thorin, ''Boy Band'' Dwarves Kili and Fili and the headbutt-tastic Dwalin - all complete with weapons and accessories and sporting some superbly realistic sculpting - the Collector Pack is available now through Entertainment Earth at the remarkably low price of just $29.99 (+S&H) - that's $6 a figure! But act fast, as The Hobbit toys are set to be this year's must have collectible figure line.

AFFILIATE LINK: The Hobbit Lego ''An Unexpected Gathering'' Set

We're just days away from the release of the first of Peter Jackson's three-part adaptation of The Hobbit and although the 4'' and 6'' figures have been getting a lot of good press recently, it seems a lot of people have overlooked the very cool licensed kits from Lego - something we're now addressing right now.

Dubbed '"An Unexpected Gathering'' the 652-piece kit features Bilbo's home of Bag End, complete with the trademark round, green door and five set-exclusive minifigures (that's Bilbo in his Shire outfit, Balin, Dwalin, Bombur and Bofur plus Gandalf the Grey and a host of accessories.)
