An early commercial from Mego introducing their new Micronauts line. The great thing about this ad is the way it's pitched to kids (Look! Shiny! Things you want!) yet it's clearly designed for parents, with a level-headed, trustworthy science teacher-type explaining how the toys encourage imagination and creativity.

These days the commercial would probably be just lots of CGI and shouting...

VIDEO VIEW: Microman Bases & Vehicles

An excellent combination of miniature cyborgs, battery-operated mentalism and Prog Rock, this ad showcases the wide range of toys released in the first years of the Microman line. What's great is that the kid only puts in an appearance toward the end of the commercial, making the Micromen appear to have a life of their own.

They just don't make 'em like this any more!
