Welcome to our round-up of the last seven day's highlights, Sunday Best.
This week we saw a couple of GI Joe Reviews in the form of the Black Dragon VTOL and - given his 30th Anniversary re-appearance - we took a look at the 25th Anniversary Cobra Trooper.
In mainstream toy news, we heard that Marvel Universe's Series 3 Wave 4 and the Second Series of Diamond Select Toys' Universal Monsters Retro Figures had landed at retail, Mattel addressing (and dodging) a few questions in their Ask Matty Q&A and announcing an extension to the Matty Collector Club subscriptions, plus we saw the rumoured line-up of the Lego Mini-Figs Series 6 blind-bagged set.
This week also saw some cool developments in the world of indie/designer/art toys. Deadbear Studios unleashed four colourway variants of the Astro Zombie, The Toy Art Gallery's new location opening was celebrated with the release of Ruckus and the Ruckus Tallboy, plus Triclops Studios announced they'd be releasing more of their very cool MUSCLE-tribute figures, BASTARDs.
It was a big week for TV news, with ABC developing not one but two shows based on The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde, Source Code getting the movie-to-TV-show treatment, the unveiling of plans to remake Beauty And The Beast and the world's first Consulting Detective, Sherlock Holmes, being eyed by ABC for a potential modernisation.
We learned that in movie news, Harlan Ellison is suing the producers of In Time, Clark Kent was spotted riding a bike and the upcoming Highlander remake found its director.
Finally, MTV Geek brought us this Marvel-themed Cosplay gallery, we got a behind-the-scenes look at the Atomic Martians studio and we saw this excellent Space 1999 tribute from local CBS News 13.
Over the next seven days we'll be bringing you a Review of the Thor Destroyer 4'' figure, taking a look at the newest wave of Gogo's Crazy Bones, plus we'll bring you all the latest news from the wonderful world of collectibles.
